Accessibility statement

Updated

AsasWeb is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. Accessibility is the foundation of how we build, not an afterthought.

Conformance status

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 AA is a superset of 2.1 AA, so this also covers the earlier version. We also align our work with EN 301 549 and the expectations of the European Accessibility Act for visitors in the European Union.

How we tested

We test continuously during development and before release, using a combination of methods:

  • Automated testing with axe-core and Lighthouse on representative pages, in English and Arabic, in both light and dark colour schemes.
  • Keyboard-only testing: every function is operable without a mouse, focus is always visible, focus order is logical, and there are no keyboard traps.
  • Screen reader testing with VoiceOver and NVDA, including language and reading-direction changes.
  • Windows High Contrast and forced-colours mode, where focus and controls remain visible.
  • 200% text spacing and 400% browser zoom, where content reflows without loss and without horizontal scrolling.
  • Small-screen testing down to 320 pixels wide.
  • Right-to-left review of every page in Arabic.

Measured colour contrast meets at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and user-interface components.

Known limitations

We are honest about where work remains:

  • Translations for several languages are pending a native-speaker review before launch.
  • Any third-party content or embedded service is not always within our direct control, and we cannot guarantee its accessibility.

If you find a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us, and we will fix it.

Feedback and contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this site. If you encounter any barrier, or need information in a different format, contact us and we aim to respond within five working days:
